Don't Look a Gift horse in the mouth
« on: January 16, 2016, 10:17:15 am »
Ok, so I had received a slightly addled Plasma TV from a friend whom's grandma had bought a newer TV, This one has the A&E channel logo ever so slightly burned into the bottom corner of the display...
Sometimes it boots up and crashes to a weird green (I know how to fix, too lazy), but I noticed that 80's-90's video games look INSANE on this display, like a Clean CRT look with a nice set of software Scanlines!

Normally people would be like "But you're going to cause burnin!" but after figuratively and literally playing Robotron for 8 hours straight, not a single remnant is left on the screen :/

It looks "Authentic" to me, like "Cathode Ray Tube +Plus" in a way, as the pixels are just big enough to look at when a few inches from the TV, LCD's seem to look "better" but don't have the same handling of primitive objects.
Is that a Sanwa in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Looks nothing like my authentic real life CGA CRT.  :applaud: You're really missing out, especially playing the Williams games with the euphoric shifting of the colors and phosphor trails from a nice stnd rez CRT.

good day.
