Console Light Gun Games & Arcade Monitors
« on: January 07, 2016, 10:06:43 am »
I'd like to hook up 5 different consoles to an arcade monitor and play various light gun games.
Specifically, I'd like to play the following games:

Saturn - Virtua Cop with Sega Stunner
Dreamcast - Confidential Mission with Mad Catz Dreamcast gun
PS2 - Time Crisis with Guncon & Time Crisis 2 with Guncon 2
XBOX - HOTD 3 & Mad Catz Blaster
WII - Ghost Squad with ? gun

If I get a multi sync arcade monitor, is it possible to play all of these?  It's my understanding that each game needs to be programmed to work with whatever video mode is being used or the light gun timing wont work.  If some of these require 480i NTSC video mode to work, is it possible to run an arcade monitor on 480i and have the game work?  I currently use all of these with an analog crt tv with component, s-video and composite imputs and they work great.  I'd like to switch to an arcade monitor and use progressive modes if possible instead.

Thanks for any advice.

I play all those games on pc via emulators, you can play HOTD 2 and 3 on wii so that may save you the hassle of another console.

also virtua cop 1 and 2 got a remake on ps2, it's currently the best version of the games.

sorry to not answer your questions but at least you know of better versions of the games.
