Run PSPident and post a pic so we can see model and motherboard info. etc. then we can make appropriate suggestions.

The Phat PSP's are really cool as you can run the original Pandora from team C+D and create service mode batteries using software that changes the batteries serial so they boot up in service mode then have the Time Machine IPL on your sticks (hehehe the good ol days)

Anyway, for you I recommend 6.60 PRO
Here's an easy guide to do that ---> http://wololo.net/installing-pro-cfw-on-a-psp-1000-psp-phat/

Thanks,

I'm downloading now. What about emulators for Genesis, NES, and SNES? I don't see them listed.

You can get a lot of emulators here or google for them  ---> http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/gpsp-0-9-gba-emulator-for-the-psp-full-speed--46046.html

For megadrive/genesis/SegaCD you want PicoDrive ---> http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/picodrive-for-psp-v1-50-genesis-sega-cd-emulator-for-the-psp-119213.html

When possible use normal version. kxploited version is for 1.50 FW so you don't want that.

SNES ---> http://yoyofr92.free.fr/psp/snespsp.html

Don't forget to check out NJ's CPS1/CPS2/MVSPSP emulators. They are so good!!!!!!

So it took me some effort to find a Mac program that wold unpack a .BPB files but I found PBPPacker that would do it. How ever when I unpacked the EBOOT.PBP in to the PSP folder the UPDATE folder did not appear. The attached pic has what I got from unpacking.

This PSP was modded years ago, could I just use the network update to get to 6.60 or would that brick my PSP?

You shouldn't need to unpack any .PBP files. It's not required to do that.

All that's needed is download this archive --> http://wololo.net/download.php?f=OFW660.zip

Extract archive and put UPDATE folder on your PSP memory stick at location \PSP\GAME

In other words the UPDATE folder goes in GAME folder on your memory stick.

Then on the PSP you go to game/memory stick in the XMB menu and run the update

I've been tied up with work and family stuff. Today I finally got to update, re-unlocked, and have installed pico drive. I still need to add NES, SNES, GBA EMU. The CS1/CS2/MVS emu's look to be more complicated to set up but I'm hopping that I'll be able to sort them out as well.

A big thinks to B2K24 for all your help.
