Hopefully these pics will not blow the width for the message board.

First up, my cabinet, the light works and I have a glass marquee cover as well.

Now a close up of where the Control Panel will sit.

And lastly, my first thoughts of a layout for my CP.  I am afraid it will be a tight fit.  I only have 22 1/2 total inches to play with on width.

I am planning a swappable CP, but I was hoping to get 2 8-ways and 1 4 way with 6 buttons on both 8-ways.  Not sure that will be possible.

What do yall think?

And thinking of maybe 4000 Mamemiacs as a name for my Cab, what do you think of that.  I want a play off Mame, but I do not want to take someone elses name.

I believe the Cab was originally a Crystal Castle.

Since space is tight, have you considered getting the 4-8 way switchable joysticks from Ultimarc's site? I'll be replacing my dedicated 8 ways with them soon. Just a thought as that would more allow room for a small trackball or a spinner...

Well, I am going to make a Trackball/Spinner panel later.

It would get used a lot less than this one.

As far as that top switchable Joystick, I thought of that, but I bought two Supers for the cost of one of those joysticks.

Does anyone think I should try to strip the black paint and get the original Crystal Castle art back?

You can see the rigids of it through the black paint.  Will take some pics and see if it will show in the Pic.

Well if you want to try it, you can always re-paint over it if the original condition sucks.

I'd recommend that new switchable stick like pixelhugger says, too.  Sounds like a space saver.

I may try that, just that the Joystick costs so much.

Anyway, since I bought a 10 foot piece of 3/4 MDF shelving, I am just going to try and make that panel work.  If it does not work well, I will do it again.  That shelving is working perfect for me, 11 inches wide.  So my brother and I cut a little bit of the wood on the sides where the panel would normally but up against.  Now it slides under it and if I make it flush there, should be perfect fit.

Also planning on putting some Admin buttons on a board over the top of the those strips.

Like my brother said, first one will not be as nice as the second one.
