  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
I'm brand new to arcades, started building a Ms. Pac-Man cocktail cabinet about 10 years ago, and just pulled out all the parts to finally finish it. (Cabinet is done, just need to install electronics). I decided to try and power up the monitor and jamma 60 in 1 board to make sure everything worked before I put it into the cabinet.

Unfortunately, the monitor does not seem to work. It was brand new in the box when I just pulled it out. It has been sitting in my basement for over 10 years. Model Wells Gardner WGE1972-H0GS39L, serial if it matters: WG6081339.

When the monitor is plugged in, all I get is static noise, no picture or glow from the monitor itself. I got one loud popping noise last time I tried it as well. I took a short video so you can see exactly what's going on. In the video I had it piggy backed to my powersupply for power, but I have also tried it straight to the wall and get the same results. Unfoturunately, I know absolutely nothing about working on these and have no idea where to even start. I tried searching and didn't find anyone with the same symptoms to get an idea on where to even start.

I've had the jamma board hooked up to it and disconnected, did not make any difference either. The power going into the monitor is 119.8v

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
