  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
New Forum user and a controller question
« on: December 12, 2015, 12:43:15 am »
Hello everyone, I am a first time poster and first time cabinet builder.  I have just about finished my first cabinet, it is a simple one that is slimmer than most that will use an LCD so I can save some space in the house.  Anyway I am using an old X-Arcade controller to cannibalize in order to make my control panel.  My basic layout is two player, 6 buttons each side with a coin and start button above their individual sections.  I still have 4 buttons left over that I am deciding if I need to install anywhere else.  My main question is when it comes to using front ends is it beneficial to have a button or two that can control things other than game actions such as one to exit the game or some other action that needs to be accomplished so I do not have to pull out the keyboard.  Thank you for any help.  If I can figure out how to post a picture I will post one of it.  Just don't laugh at my Avengers wrapping paper background as I needed to put something in there until I can design and print a custom one.
