I noticed there isn't a thread for new member introductions, so I figured I post mine here.

I've been a lurker in the forum for about a year. Finally getting around to registering. Mid November, I finished building a (from scratch) DK bartop for my son. For my first build, it didn't turn out too bad. I will say that the information here was a valuable tool during the construction. One of these days I set up a thread with the build pictures. I don't feel it should go in the Project Announcements section as the machine is complete.

Just starting to build a second machine for a friend of my son's. When I make a little more progress on it, I'll start a build thread.

I have fond memories of playing Space War in the mall arcade with my Dad. That and pinball. SHUMPS though are my favorite type of arcade game. I'm retired Navy, so now I have a little more time and space to enjoy this hobby in the home (instead of the ever fleeting arcades).

Welcome to the forum.  Playing Space War is one of my earliest arcade memories as well.

Any relation to HarveyBirdman?  :)

Hey Birdman, Welcome to the forum.

Congrats with the retirement. I did 4 years in the Navy, loved it. Kind of wish I stayed but ohh well.

Looking forward to your build progress.

Welcome to the forum. And please post your build in the Project Announcements section. It doesn't matter if it's complete. Looking forward to see it!

Nope. It comes from the fact I am and always will be a bird nut. Feeding the ducks at the local city park, and it took off from there.

CSB: Ship pulls into Singapore. At the time, we were not required to have "Liberty Buddies". Singapore has a very large Bird Park/Sanctuary. Spent my only full day of liberty at that park. Maped out the train route and everything before I left the ship.
