simpletoch fe - stop desktop showing when game selected

Hi,
Got my cab running simpletouch fe and I love it, the only downside is that when I select a game the desktop flashes up for a second or so before the actual game starts and again when closing game and going back to Fe menu.
Is there a setting I have missed to stop this happening or do you use a blank image or something ?

At the moment I have STFE in the start up rather than shelled so not sure if that makes any difference, I know it's only a small issue but sorting it would make the cab perfect for me.
