I curious how the MAME developers determine which arcade games are "still making money". Is there some finacial data posted online somewhere (something like this site
http://www.the-numbers.com, except for arcade games instead of movies)? Or do they just visit the local arcades to see what's there. There are some games in the two arcades in my area that have been "MAMEd", however those games may only make money for the arcade owner, and not the developer of the game.
The reason I ask is that I noticed there more recent games (such as "Gunbird 2"; released 1998) in MAME than "San Francisco Rush" (released 1996). Obviously "Gunbird 2" isn't bringing in the same money that "San Francisco Rush" is. I'm just curious as to how they know that. Anyone know?
