Build a Fix It Felix Arcade
« on: November 10, 2015, 09:11:36 pm »
Hello,

I just discovered my autistic son has an absolute skill with Fix it Felix game and after discovering I apparently can't buy one I'm considering trying to build one.

I will be totally honest I have never considered this type of project and will be learning everything from scratch.

I'm looking for help from anyone that can point me in the right direction, meaning can I use say the Donkey Kong cabinet and then add software and controls for Fix it Felix?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Welcome aboard, Mdconn16.   ;D

We can help you with everything except where to find the game. (see Rule 5)

The FAQ is a great place to start.

Welcome to the board!!

Another suggested thread would be to go here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,144583.0.html - It's a thread on building a Nintendo cab from scratch, which is what the FF cab is based on. I would surf the project forums as well as numerous people have built FF cabs and i'm sure can share artwork, etc you'd need to make this happen.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Also if you are going to be setting it up on an arcade system and want to use buttons other than the default - get Howard Casto's wrapper (Thread about it here : http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,135805.msg1404134.html#msg1404134 ) - It fixes a few problems with the leaked disney PC version of the game so it is easier to use on an arcade setup. (NOTE: You'll still need to find the leaked disney version of the game as it is just an added wrapper that works with the game. )

Why?  A nice clone was made and works very well.  :applaud:
