Popping sound and electricity coming out of monitor

Hey guys just bought a soul caliber arcade machine and after the move when I go to power the machine on a scary popping sound can be heard as well as looks like electricity is popping out of back of monitor...looked at another thread at you guys said it might be some thing with the fly back cord or something like that...the machine worked fine at the guys house before I moved the machine and I took it easy on the drive...any help or ideas is always appreciated guys

Make sure the clip on anode wire from the flyback is fully seated within the cup on the tube and the suction cup portion is fully seated on the tube.  I would recommend discharging your tube first (Google that)

its probably damp
clean the anode cap and cable,clean around the anode of the crt with very gentle cleaning agent and then add some dielectric grease around the anode cap outer area where it touches the tube

obviously discharge the anode before doing all this

do not operate a crt in cold or damp conditions

Thanks for the feed back guys it was misting when we moved it last night so I am hoping it could be damp like u guys have suggested...have a buddy who is an electrician and is gonna come over to help me discharge the monitor before working on it....is it really "bad" to turn it on when it makes the popping noise and I can see the electricity don't want to risk damaging anything to show my buddy the problem...the monitor is a large 32 inch so really wanna make sure I don't damage anything. As like I said earlier it worked fine before we transported it

dry it off with a hairdryer,not too close or too hot-around anode area and deflection coil in particular

last thing you want is a 32" monitor to flash over btw
