gbs-8100 on a std arcade monitor?
« on: October 24, 2013, 08:52:05 pm »
I have an old computer that I was wanting to use to drive a Wells Gardner 4900 STD vertical monitor via Mame?

Anyone use a GBS-8100 VGA to CGA converter on an original arcade monitor? http://www.jammaboards.com/store/vga-to-cga-pal-ntsc-video-converter-pcb-gbs8100.html

I think the GBS-8100 outputs at 480i 15khz, not sure how this will look for games that are low-res (ie. is 256x240 60Hz vertical game).

I dont think I have a computer that supports the new ArcadeVGA 3000 as they dont have the right PCI slot, so thinking of using a GBS-8100 instead.

Haven't decided yet, leaning towards just getting a newer computer for ArcadeVGA through J-Pac

Aha, I asked because I was looking at buying one of those GBS-8100 devices, but I've read they don't save your settings, also there is a newer version called 8150, apparently. I want to connect a PC to an old arcade monitor from a Zaxxon cabinet.

Have fun !

Hey Craig,

You ever get that 8150 and hook it up? Was wanting to do the same thing you talked about...
