Problem with arcade monitor and jpac
« on: October 24, 2015, 06:24:39 pm »
Hi guys,

I have a problem with my arcade monitor and jpac setup and hope you can help me solve it.

My arcade cab has a goldstar monitor

I connect everything up and set my graphics card to 15khz with soft15khz.

When the PC turns on I get a green screen (pic1) and when it boots and gets into windows I can see the image on the background (still green) as you can see on pic 1. When removing the vga cable from jpac and connect it to my pc monitor I get pic 2

Jpac shows green lights constantly on

Can someone help me to resolve this?

Thanks

Do you have a jamma board you can test the monitor on?  This would at least tell you if the problem is on the jpac side or the monitor side--I've never used soft15khz so I have no idea about settings etc...
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Yes when I connect the Jamma board the monitor is ok.

It's something to do either with jpac or the vga card.

Are there any settings to play with?  I just enabled soft15khz

Not ruling out jpac but I would be way more suspect of the soft15khz and videocard since it was never designed to run the monitor in question...

Whats the vid card?

tube is goldstar,monitor is not
remove the video input,do you still get a green screen-if so either the green cut off is too high or the green drive circuit has a fault

When i remove the monitor i still get a green screen but when i connect it to my jamma neo geo board the screen is fine.

I thought maybe the wiring of my jamma harness is not the one needed by jpac but i checked jpac website and the wiring is as needed by jpac......

my jpac when connected shows a green led for selfcheck and sync ok but shows an orange led for sync in... is that normal?

Ok it seems that it was a software issue.
I tried with powerstrip and I can see my desktop but only the top half

Are there any other options to configure this in powerstrip? I used the 640x480 arcade resolution.

And the green color "mask" still remains.
