AtomicFE screen saver and startup video help
« on: October 15, 2015, 04:46:23 am »
Good morning.
This is my first post on here having been searching through your archives during my arcade build.
I am currently building a classic looking 2 player arcade cabinet utilising a second hand PC I purchased.
I eventually settled for AtomicFE as my front end, hyper spin is awesome but the processor I have just isn't up to the job without taking all the cool bits out.
Anyway Atomic it was, it was really easy to setup and play with but now I'm nearing the process of putting it all I the cab and I can't get the screen saver or loading video to work.
I found I needed the xvid codec pack for atomic so I installed that, the video was still laggy with the picture lagging sound. I read on here that xvid wasn't good at getting the interlace between sound and video when used with an avi file so I converted the avi to wmv then ran it through xvid and then converted back to avi, now that seemed to solve the interlacing but the video when run by atomic is still not smooth. If I play it in wmp it's perfect.......
Secondly the screensaver in atomic just doesn't want to do anything, I select enable screensaver, launch a random game but when the screensaver activates I just get a black screen. Using the task manager it seems that none of the emulators are actually being launched by atomic. Any ideas to any of the above?

Thanks in advance for any help or comments.
