Nintendo coin door
« on: September 25, 2015, 09:16:39 am »
I'm doing a donkey kong jr build and I cant seem to find a coin door.
I've seen a few nintendo restores in here and was hoping I could get some measurements off of someone with an original coin door in mm to possibly recreate one. I have access to a laser cutter at the moment so I was hoping to be able to cut the parts out and put it together.
Thanks

Well, you really only have two good options, find an old used one on eBay/KLOV, or buy a reproduction.  The Takeman repros are all said and gone, so I think you're going to have to order it from overseas.

I've got a couple of them here, and honestly, for the time/effort I know it's going to take to reproduce one, even I wouldn't bother. Just spend the money and get one.

KJ is right. It's a pretty unique door, and anything else just doesn't look right. Spend the funds and get one.

I'd at least hit KLOV and see if anyone is selling a used one. That's how I got mine.

Thanks I'll give KLOV a try. I got a quote on shipping from plonkagames and it's nearly $200 all up for the door and shipping to Australia :/
I'm in the process of joining the KLOV forum now
