Help get 2.monitor display for Marquee
« on: September 18, 2015, 09:39:14 am »
Hello guys
Have a PC with winxp 32 + jpac + ATI 4350 + CRT_Emudriver with an arcade monitor 15khz, i´m trying to plug a normal lcd pc monitor into the VGA port to begin the test for a Marquee lcd display exclusive, just like Blip http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,137295.0.html did with his cab.
But for some how, winxp is not detect the crt properly togheter with the pc monitor, if i plug the dvi>vga on the crt thru jpac with the vga into the lcd pc monitor, winxp doesnt show on, if i take off the vga port it detects normaly.
Any suggest, how to fix that, or any way to force winxp display the crt always on dvi>vga port ?
Thanks a lot
Marcos

I have tried this too with the same results, I think the only solution is a separate video card, due to the monitor detection.  If someone knows the magic, I would like to know too.

Hello Damonbeals, exactaly that, do you think it's a Jpac issue or something with the CRT_emudriver?
Thanks Marcos

The issue is with windows not the Jpac, if windows sees a monitor connected it tried to set the resolution to vga, which then messes up arcade monitor.

As least that is what I have been able to determine from post here.

If you need to force arcade monitor detection, you'll need to add resistors to your vga cable. That way Windows should keep the desktop layout even after plugging an LCD monitor.
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

Hello Calamity
Thanks you so much for your help !
Do you think no matter the port the cable is connected dvi or vga, if doing this it will stick on that port ?
You mean on the vga cable that plugs from the ATI 4350 to the J-Pac ? Do you have the schematics for do this modification ?

Thanks you
Marcos
