Tetris the Absolute The Grand Master 2 Plus - sound stutter
« on: September 13, 2015, 10:10:17 am »
Hallo. I'm experiencing random sound stuttering specifically in TGM2P. I can simply not understand the reason for it during my own research on the normal causes of stuttering related issues.

Summery:

-MAME gives no emulation warning on this ROM
-ROM is allowed to run at original frame rate (checked with FRAPS) (no vsync or such used)
-CPU usage is low (recorded in MSI Afterburner)
-GPU usage is low (recorded in MSI Afterburner)

I have basically tried every meaningful audio and graphics combination in MAMEUIFX64. I have also tried to use GroovyMAME (completely untouched settings).

I'm using a LCD screen, but as I said, the game runs at its original frame rate, so why should the audio stutter?

Possible reasons that I can think of:

-MAME is using the wrong refresh rate for this game
-The original cabinet had the same issue (unlikely, I think)
-MAME has undocumented emulation issues with this ROM

Please help me out if you can. Let me know if you need more information. Thank you so much.
