How long does DATUTIL take to run??

Trying to make a DAT file for CLRMAMEPRO on a R build of MAME and not an official release (otherwise I would grab the correct DAT from progetto-snaps) and I made the XML output file from mame and currently running the DATUTIL on this XML file.  It has been running all night and most of the day and just was making sure this was normal behavior.  Right now the screen is showing "storing the tokenized dat within the actual dat structure" and seems to be working, but no other progress indicator can be noticed.  Just wanted to make sure this was normal since I have never made a DAT before.  System is an i3 @ 3.4GHz
