Anyone ever design a monogram ? (Potential side art idea)

My little one is growing up so quickly (As I'm sure they all do!).
She is forever grabbing our laptops, tablets, PC's............ you name it her little hands are all over it.
Wife wants to get her her own tablet/laptop (It would serve double duty, be mostly for us, but my daughter could use touchscreen learning games). I want to build a housing (cabinet) for it....paint it a nice pink and I want a monogram for the sideart.

Wife and I always wanted to get a monogram done for her (don't know where we stole the idea from!) 

SRB.....her initials........... man this is hard !

Has anyone ever designed his/her own monogram.........I'm sure many of us have been inspired by our favorite sports teams, or Tony Montana (Scarface).......I always loved the TM monogram.

Anyway as I search for inspiration for my SRB monogram I thought I would ask.

Odd to post on a coin-op site I know.

I LOVE this design...........................

I'm going to attempt to make something like this.
I'm having a hard time figuring out the layering.
I'm new to the pen tool in Photoshop !
