CP Overlay Artwork Feedback Wanted
« on: August 25, 2015, 12:56:26 pm »
I have printed and installed the side art and Marquee for may cabinet, but I have been going back and forth a million times trying to decide what kind of artwork to use for my CPO.

I think I have my final design ready to print, but am looking for feedback on what improvements I can make, while still staying with my theme.

Thanks in advance for ANY and ALL feedback!

Are the 4 buttons in the center for P1/2 Coin-Up and Start? Or something else?

P1 coin, P1 start, P2 start, and P2 coin.  (in that order...extra buttons yes, but is for ease of use by my 4 and 6 year old boys!)

I don't care for the text "Look Forward to Going Back..."

It doesn't seem to fit and also doesn't roll off the tongue well.
If you can read this, it means Photobucket's money grab ruined my signature photos.

I don't see any real issues with the design and I like the colors.

My person preference is to have the Pause/Exit buttons in the middle and the Coin/Start buttons to the outside, closer to the player. But, if that layout works for you, then I'd say go for it!

First off, congrats!  I can see you've put a lot of heart into this design and have done a great job overall.

I agree with vwalbridge that there is something off with the "Look Forward to Going Back..." part.  On the one hand, shouldn't it be "Looking Forward to Going Back..."?  And it's either the font or perhaps it not being outlined that makes it stick out too much.  Something should happen to make it blend a little more.

I am also a fan of separating the P1 and P2 Credit/Start buttons, but that's just me.  I'm guessing you don't have them labeled because the buttons themselves will be labeled?

Thanks for feedback everyone!

The layout was based on the old Vs. Nintendo CP.  Start buttons were in the center just above the player controls.  I loved that, so i took it and added the coin buttons next to them.  Decided to put Exit and Pause way up and away from everything else so my kids were less likely to bump them during game play.

I added labels to the center buttons. better?  Should i put "player 1" and "player 2" above it, or let it go?  (thinking it may look too crowded with that added too)

Now I am second guessing the solid colors on the joystick and payer buttons??  I wanted to do a gradient from the yellow to the orange, but couldn't out how to.  (I have the blue in there because it brings in the color of the cabinet itself.)

As crazy as it sounds, i used PowerPoint to create everything since i don't have PhotoShop. (i created it actual size so it seems to be printing with good details)
