Anyway to visually differentiate between US and UK polo's?
« on: August 21, 2015, 01:36:21 pm »
I'm pretty sure it will be a UK version Hantarex polo 25 I've just acquired, but the guy I got it from reckons there was a transformer with it that he gave to his mate.

Just trying to rule out it being a step-down, so is there any visible way to check that the polo is not a US version? ... Thanks

never seen a u.s version but i would say mains smoothing cap would be lower voltage, possibly 200v and it may be in a different position

There are various differences in the chassis. The US one has a white molex connector for the video input instead of the green connector of the European version. And there's no east-west sub-board on the US chassis. If we're talking about a complete monitor it's even more evident: a European Polo 25" will have an A59 tube whereas a US 25" (26" by our standards) will have an A63 tube.

That's great, thanks.

It's the full monitor yes, so should be pretty easy to sus out now.

I'm away till Tuesday, when I'll get chance to have a look.

Thanks again.

Looks like it is an EU POLO... A59 on the label and green molex connector.... Cheers for the help in pointing that out.  :applaud:

Just to confirm, can this be plugged straight into the mains then?
