I've been planning and prepping for some time to build a 4-player co-op arcade game. Long story short, that plan got short-circuited (hopefully for the better) by a nonfunctional Gauntlet Legends cabinet that came up for sale in my area. Picking it up tonight.
However... I know this will make many purists here cringe, but the Gauntlet Legends artwork has got to go. For one thing, our machine probably isn't even going to have Gauntlet Legends in it; and for another, that artwork doesn't convey the message I want to convey, which is this:
HEY! LOOK AT ME! I AM SEVERAL CLASSIC CO-OP MULTIPLAYER GAMES IN ONE!
More specifically, the focus of this game will be Gauntlet II, TMNT, Simpsons, Rampage, and D&D.
So I'm currently planning the title "Co-op Classics," and I'd like to somehow feature characters from those five games in the artwork.
What do you all think? Am I on a reasonable track here to make an attractive game with a reasonable WAF? And, by some freakish stroke of luck, is there already some decent artwork out there to fit this theme?
