Driving Cab game idea's
« on: January 04, 2004, 06:44:12 am »
Question for you all.

I have gotten hold of an old generic sit down driving cab (the enclosed sort) Was wondering what mame emulated games to run on it.  And this of course will determine if I mounted the monitor in a horizontal or vertical fashion.  Given that this is going to be done to sell on, if you were a potential buyer what would you want?

I had also thought about going a step further and possibly turning it into a star wars or  ? wanna be rather than a driving cab.

Thoughts?
Pm me for custom cnc needs...

If you have / can get one stick a Star Wars Yoke in there.  Then you can play yoke games as well as 270deg driving games.

Personally I would mount the screen horizontally and play RoadBlasters, Outrun, Chase HQ, STUN Runner etc.

If you can get some inspiration from unclets beast, why not somehow hook up a 360 deg spinner type wheel for other drivers too :)

Here is a list which lists the driving games which are in MameV.62 (if this helps):

I think it's gonna eat up all your spare time and rob you of valuable living space. You really should get rid of it...fast. Along that same vein and in the community spirit, I'd be glad to pick it up and haul it away for you.  ;D

OK, seriously, I'd go with a 270' horizontal. With that set up you can play tons of MAME stuff and PC racers too...a yoke would be sweet. Umm... what minwah said!  ;)
