Ok so i haven't being using GM for its intended purpose (Arcade Monitor) for over 2 years now, i have in the past just being using GM on my main PC and and LCD screen!. I have a dedicated PC for this project that will eventually go in a cab im building, i have...

25" 15khz CRT Arcade Monitor
Radeon HD2400
i3 intel Haswell cpu
J-Pac (to help protect the monitor)

What flavour of GM is recommended atm the Linux based GroovyArcade live-CD method or windows based install?? I kind of like the GroovyArcade live_CD method as it seems to be self contained with its own frontend but not sure if its as well supported as the windows version of GM. Do i need to take any special steps as im going to be ining a J-Pac at all?

I don't think the jpac would cause you any problems but that said I don't use one so not sure on that

perhaps try the live CD first and try lots of games, and see if it works for you
or if you wanted to setup without the live CD, have a look here:

Thanks for the link to the guide, the thing putting me off using the GroovyArcade Live CD is that it looks to be fairly old build now, is there not a more recent build?

Which is the better method for creating and switch resolutions?, as isnt it only Windows 7 build of GM that uses Super Resolution method which helps keep all games centre on the monitor??

You can use super resolutions for any OS supported by GM.

Windows 7 64-bit and a compatible Radeon (your 2400 isn't) flashed with ATOM-15, using super resolutions and frame delay.

So the ATOM-15 CFW just allow you to view the bios and boot screen on 15khz monitors??, can a card that has been flashed with ATOM-15 be flash back to its original form?

As long as you keep a copy of the original BIOS, yes
