Metal Slug Series
« on: February 10, 2014, 10:54:00 pm »
I picked up this monster Midway cab (gutted) over the weekend.  This thing is a beast!  My wife and I had a hell of a time getting it through the front door, where it has been setting since.  This was a Carnevil when I picked it up.  Only thing left in it was the monitor, hard drive and the daughter board.  Monitor didn't work so I tossed it.  The cab itself is in pretty good shape but needs some serious TLC on the outside.

This is going to be a Metal Slug series cab with all new art and not Neo Geo themed.

Sorry, don't fool with them anymore.  Cost too much to ship.  It was in bad shape, it was just the tube, it didn't even have a board.

lol, eh I don't care.  I've seen and read enough beat downs on these forums over the years to be immune to it.  I know what I am getting myself into here but its all good cause I'll have the arcades I want.

Thats awesome.  I love Metal Slug and not too big of a fan with the other Neo-Geo games.  Besides, the Neo-Geo art is old and I would love to vector some Metal Slug stuff.

So, a long time ago, in a game room far far away, I had everything finally together in one place to complete this cab.  I lined up the CPO sticker perfectly, slid all the air bubbles out, successfully applied my art work and actually dropped the entire thing when I was carrying it to the game room!  It ended up busting a corner completely off.  I wasn't able to fix it, glue it, sand it and screw it back together.  So, wasting a $60 CPO, I ended up losing my cool, throwing it all out in the yard and swearing off the rest of my arcades projects forever.

But, after a long break, I decided to give them another chance.  I am going to convert this cab to Dragon's Lair project.  Probably going to list the Metal Slug marquee on here or ebay.

No, no pictures cause I never actually put it together.  So, I guess I can start a thread about Dragon's Lair or something, take some pics, etc.

Well I appreciate you letting the community have them cause they are great vectored pieces.  I would love to do a Metal Slug, just for you lol, but the wife has said I can only have 6 arcades total or 4 arcades and a jukebox.  So I am limited by which arcades I really want  and Metal Slug is kind of on the bottom.  :(

Just use this same thread to show the Dragons Lair work, it will nice to see the full history of this cab.
