Golden Tee Fore! 2002 - Software?
« on: June 06, 2015, 04:10:30 pm »
Hey folks,

I just got my hands on a GT machine and the previous owner told me the motherboard was dead. After playing around with it for a little bit I don't think that is the case. The machine boots up and gets stuck on initializing hard drive when I don't hold down the start button. When I hold down the start button the machine runs through all of its checks just fine and gets stuck on initializing after it displays everything is OK. I pulled the hard disk out of the game and took a peak at it in Ubuntu and I see 2 partitions on the drive, but no file system (FAT16, FAT32, etc...) so I doubt it has software on it.

1.) How many partition(s) need to be on this disk for GT to load properly and what size?
2.) What file system does it require (Windows or Linux type)?
3.) Where the heck can I get my hands on the software that should be on the drive?

This is a standalone cabinet not a MAME setup, so I'm looking for the original software.

Any tips would be much appreciated... this is my first ever arcade cab and I'm just learning the ropes.

Thanks!

You have two options. The first is buy a hard drive off of eBay. They run around $60 and includes the newer 2.09 boot rom. The second is to CHDMAN to burn a new image to you hard drive.
