Manual way to compile old mame for 64 bit?
« on: May 08, 2015, 08:06:08 pm »
So im trying to compile old mame 0.138 for 64 bit, i tried mame compiler 64 but i get some errors make: *** windows32_openpipe(): DuplicateHandle(In) failed (e=6) and cant continue any further, i read here that using mame compiler 64 v.1.18 would fix the problem, but i cant find a download link to it. So i think i can try doit manually i just would like some help on how to doit, i got mame 38 source, i got mingw-mame-20100102.exe for mame .138, can someone help me do it the old mannualy way but for 64bit mame... thanks in advance.

Hi, Just go to the mame downloads page (http://mamedev.org/oldrel.html), get the link for the version you want and add '_64bit'...
Here's a direct link to the 64bit version of 0.138 you need:
http://mamedev.org/downloader.php?file=releases/mame0138b_64bit.exe

.... It doesn't help you compile the source, but hopefully jumps straight to the end result you were looking for :)

i like the no nag screen verion ,thats why im trying to compile, i alsoremove the savestate pop messages, i did that allready, following mr.do guies, wich its very very easy to do, and it dosnt take 2 hours, i think mame compiler helps alot but also its not that very user friendly as time passes by

Mame Compiler is designed for people who want to keep Mame up to date. It's not designed to compile old versions. It's also just as fast as compiling using the command line.
