New CAbinet Build
« on: December 27, 2003, 09:34:15 am »
Hi all

I've been thinking zbout building a cab for a couple of months , and i have now got a donor pc to use (P3 900 Mhz 266 MB & 60 Gb) - I've alsoo collected a number of essential bits and pieces including an ultimarc ipac & arcadevga graphics card along with a WG 27" monitor.

I think i've got all of the essentials but i'm now confused as to what OS, and Front End to use - I've read various articles that suggest win 98 but booting into dos - win 98 and some version of mame32 etc.

I'm completely open to suggestions and advice if people can let me know what they recommend or even use themselves.

Thanks in advance

Dailand

I used windows XP with MAMEWAH on my P3 733 w/ 256 MB of ram.  If you have access to windows XP then I reccommend that you use that versus the earlier builds of windows.
