Spy Hunter side art... thisoldgame.com
« on: April 22, 2015, 01:40:11 pm »
I'm about to completely restore a cockpit Spy Hunter. (and my first restoration) thisoldgame.com has sideart. Can anyone vouch for the quality? Is there any kind of protective coating on this? How durable?

Thanks.

Well, I didn't like this reply I just got...  :'(

***Hey Andy,
No we do not offer a protective coating.
Once your side art is applied it is to be handled with care.
This is solvent print without laminate.

You can add one yourself after you apply the artwork but it's only bit more durable.

When it comes to the pinball side art I do not know
Thanks again and Game ON!
This Old Game***

Handled with care!!! My brother refurbished a few pinballs over the last couple years and the most recent one he go artwork with no protective coating... his watch just brushed up against it and put scratches on it... and while do some final things he accidentally got a few drops of rubbing alcohol on it and it took the ink off. He ended up totally replacing it.

Anyone know of anywhere else I can get artwork for a cockpit Spy Hunter?

Well, I emailed TNT Amusments as I've seen a video on youtube of them restoring a SH... They used the art from thisoldgame.
His reply...

That's a tough one...because one we put the stuff on and ship it, we generally never hear from the people again...so I couldn't tell you...no one has ever called and complained yet....It DOES come with a white covering over the art...you should leave that in place until the game is at its final destination...that's for sure...

I think they are the only company offering this artwork so it looks like I'm going there regardless... hopefully its cool.
Based on the website it seems like they make quality stuff but I've just never dealt with them and if it wasn't for my brothers recent issue I wouldn't have given it a second thought.

Well that is good to hear.... what have they printed for you?

The only artwork I've had printed is for my Hyperspin cabinet and I got that from Game On Grafix. The print quality is great and durability wise it seems like a cheese grater wouldn't hurt it.

I'm just trying to make sure I do this Spy Hunter right the 'first' time!

That's cool Spyridon. I ordered the art last week. Once I get the project rolling I'll post up some progress pics.

Hello

Did you received and installed the stickers?
I got one too and wondering if I order them or not.

Thanks
