  • New to MAME, can't wait to get my rig built
Hey guys

I have Mame, hyperspin, and hyperlaunch all set up! Everything is working great.

I am just having one issue. I am using an x arcade which works great. But when i mash buttons on the player 2 buttons it backs me out of the game i am playing. As a heads up i have sticky keys disabled and disabled all windows hotkeys. i believe.

If i am playing through hyperspin, it backs me out of the game back to the hysperspin MAME wheel, and i can still hear the game running in the background. If i try to reselect it again in the wheel nothing happens. Then i will exit out of hyperspin and i will see the MAME program minimized in my toolbar and i can click and start playing again.

If i am playing through hyperlaunch, the same thing happens only instead of going back to the hyperspin wheel, it just minimizes the MAME game and sends me to my desktop with the hyperlaunchHQ menu.

I have tried pressing each individual button to replicate it but it doesnt work. Its only when i mash buttons and its only on the P2 side. I have even tried pressing all the buttons at once and nothing happens. Then i started pressing different combination presses, and would get one to replicate it, then when i woulf try that same button input it wouldn't replicate again!

Anyone have any ideas :( i am so close to having a functioning MAME system but this issue is killing it.

Thanks a bunch

Okay so after playing around, i noticed the problem doesnt happen in MAME itself if i just run MAME on it's own. It only happens when i run MAME through HyperLaunchHQ or Hyperspin.

So something in one of those  programs is messing with me.

Am i supposed to be using a mapper like Joytokey with an arcade stick like the X arcade?

  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Sounds like you have some buttons for player 2 controls, mapped to things you don't mean for them to be mapped to in Hyperspin maybe??  In HyperHQ can you see what the player 2 controls are mapped to, maybe map them to nothing.. or a button you know you wont hit.. This is just a thought.
