ok, lets see....

I hadn't decided for sure if I was going to start a frontend until you showed a preview (and took a 6month hiatis)

I already had the idea of the screenshot and marquee over a picture of a cabinet... but the preview images at the bottom... blatent rip off.

Got it running like I liked it. Was about to make it look pretty (made it so ugly with a crappy cabinet hoping that people would use that as insperation to add a picture of their own cabinet... and nobody did

Then you released yours with skins.

I had to write a skin editor so I could use your skins (yes, I've had your front end running at 640x480 for like months now). (an yes, I had it running at home way before Howard released his skin editor...

... didn't steal that one from him. But I added a bunch of stuff to my editor so I can steal his skins also

One of the limiting factors in me releasing something is that i need to create some of my own skins.... artistic...talent.... sapping....away.....

Trouble is that I get more ideas before I'm ready to ship anything. I really need to get a release out

I have also have the active skin drag and drop working. This is really sweet.

Also dynamically change the resolution on the fly with the click of a button.

Can't wait to get it out. As soon as I can get my new machine up tonight.

Actually lilwolf, mine was the first fe to be fully skinnable.

It's still the only one with FULL skinnability to my knowledge, but I'm sure that's definately gonna change, right guys?

Big things on the way for rd too btw, this is gettin good perhaps we should use our powers for good instead of evil?

Absolutely everyone on the entire planet. Even when you have the "perfect look" as you put it you get sick of it after a while... I think a random loading of a skin upon startup might be a feature for a future release of rd. You know like the background rotater for mame32, but better.

Emulaxian is skinnable...yuo just have to open it in
Director

But to be perfectly honost..in the latest versions of Emulaxian most things are internally skinnable and interchangable...to make it easier for myself now there are three fe's I am working on...

And Howard. Mine has been fully skinnable since 2 or 3 days after ArcadeFX's release with his skins. Just not released

I did rewrite the skinnable code so I could add another bean easier (I added one bean and it took me 15 minutes to add the bean, add the support to the front end and everything... Then 4 hours to get it in the skin editor popup because the design was really hacked and thrown together).

My trouble is lack of time. With 2 kids and a wife, I'm lucky to get 15 minutes a day!

I hear ya! I am in the same boat with 2 kids, wife, dog, cat, and another baby on the way. Actually, probably in the next week or two. So I need to get out the latest release by this weekend for sure.

I have programmed myself for only 5 hours of sleep so I can get an hour or two a day if I need to:

Ok it's been 3 days I want my big news now ed. I've been waiting patiently but i can't take it anymore. I haven't slept in 2 days I've been anticipating this so much. Ok, i'm lying i'm just bored at work.

He just got a new machine. I'm sure he is spending to much time playing games and showing 3d demos then actually coding

I know when I get a new machine. the next week is just playing with generic windows settings. (what background goes good with this case kinda choices)
