Problem with certain games...
« on: April 02, 2015, 03:25:45 pm »
I know. I know. It seems like a SUPER simple task to solve these problems. But no matter what I do I CANNOT solve them!

Have MAME rom set from Mame 0.149 and most of my roms did not work with that edition of MAME. After some trial and error, I got MAME 0.128 and the roms worked well on that.

My issue is that certain games will not load. Some of these games include

ANYTHING with CHD (I put the chd file into a subfolder of the rom folder with the subfolder name identical to the rom zip name.)
Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition parent rom (the clone and foreign roms work perfectly fine. I tried redownloading the parent from other sites and no dice.)

Many other games do not work but these are the ones that get me the most. I am wanting to hopefully play some Ikaruga, Street Fighter 2, and SFiii3 and can't figure them out for a damn!

What happens when I try to play any of those games, I get a screen of it loading, then COMPLETE darkness. This happens when I use Maximus Arcade and when I use just mame itself.

Any help is appreciated guys. I have been a lurker for a LONG time but never wanted to sign up until today

1) If you're 0.149 rom set is not working with MAME 0.149 it's not the 0.149 rom set.
2) If you're 0.149 rom set is working with MAME 0.128 it's not the 0.149 rom set.
3) 1 and 2

If you want to play at SFiii3 , choose a CPS3 emulator it works perfectly :applaud:

I got it to work properly! Just went and redownloaded sf third strike (one without chd).

It actually works. I turned on the ability to show clones on Maximus arcade. The. I just added the correct version of each rom to my favorites list.

I just need to figure out how to make a rom be considered a parent rom.
