Mame Marquees for MALA
« on: March 24, 2015, 07:27:08 am »
I don't have Marquee images (in MALA) for some popular games and can't find them through arcade-museum and/or Google images. At least, not decent enough ones even for on-screen display. For instance, APB, Ping Pong, Jackal (Europe version of Top Gunner) and several others. Is there a good known source/pack available that contains these or are they known "Missing" ones?

Screenshots not a problem - I can just do a snap from mame - but the marquee is tougher to sort.

Have you found your way here?
http://mamelayplus.jimdo.com/descargas/
and/or here
http://mrdo.mameworld.info/mame_artwork_frontend.php

Most aren't that high of a resolution though, but probably enough for MALA. I can check when I get home to see if I have any of the ones you listed specifically.

Thanks, I'll check all those links and download the packs. I'd downloaded a full pack or 2 before but perhaps some of these have the ones the others didn't

However, I don't yet see, say, APB on these. Now, that might be as it isn't an art marquee but lights with a logo inside but I'd still be suprised if someone hasn't done an artwork of it - it's a pretty popular game (isn't it?)

Edit: Ah! I've found an apb on the progettotoemma site listed - thanks. It's not the greatest (a photo of the lights, with a flash glare) but at least it's something to display :-)

Still struggling with "jackal" though. This is probably as that's the European version, and Top Gunner has the artwork from the (vast) US sources. You guys are lucky - we don't even have the old cabinets still about/on sale to anywhere near the level you do over the pond!

Ditto "Mr Heli" - It's something different in the US (Battle Chopper) and the Euro Mr Heli / Japanese Mr Heli no Daibōken

"Combat School" likewise (Boot Camp).

It looks like the Euro/non-US ones that I'm struggling with doesn't it! Perhaps I should just go with the US versions but its Mr Heli/Combat School / Jackal I remember and they play slightly differently to the US versions also...

I didn't have time last night to check for you. I know I have a Boot Camp (if you need  it), but not Jackal. I also have an APB, not sure on the quality/res of that one, but not that photo one. The others I doubt I have unless they are in any of the packs I linked to.

I'll double check tonight and I can post them and link you to them.

Boot Camp I have, thanks - it is its Euro version (Combat School) that I'm missing. If you have a better APB that would be great!

I think I may have lost the high resolution APB marquee I had. But, I've attached one that might be usable.
