Staying Politically Correct , I'll have to agree with Odonadon.
I was actually taught in elementary school, many years ago .... that ... " you know Michael .. not everybody celebrates the Christmas holiday , not everybody has your same religious background .... we're best to maintain a respect for others ,and just wish those around us a Happy Holidays ... thus noone will become offended ! " ...

Not so much word for word, but I recall her lesson that later on in life has saved me many an embarrassing moment.

Today, with society wanting us to practice this melting pot of multicultural bliss, and wanting us to live together in total harmony ... they still find a way to separate the masses and give those their own special time of year and not be a part of the tradtional Christian holiday.

Not to offend, as I certainly mean nobody here any harm. I come to BYOAC so I can escape ALL political views and opinions ( by God I see them all the time at work ) ... and share my own opinions and ideas, and at the same time, gain knowledge in a community where we know nothing about one another except that we share a common interest ... and that alone makes this one excellent forum/family.  :)

So yeah .... Happy Holidays to my BYOAC friends, and thank you all for the help you've provided.
 :)

I'm a caucasian Christian, but if somebody were to wish me a "Happy Kwanzaa" or "Happy Hanukkah", I would certainly not be offended.  I would just smile and say, "Thank you," and be glad that they wish me well.

I personally think too many people get offended far too easily these days.

Everybody just enjoy yourselves in whatever holiday(s) you celebrate.

Happy BYOAC!

You know...thank you!  I think it ridiculous that in a country that is like 70% caucasion and like 50% religious that you can't just say Merry Christmas!  It's not like you're cussing them out if they don't celebrate Christmas it's not like you just insulted them or something...you're wishing them well...how can you be offended by that?!?  I too wish people a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year regardless of ethnicity, I don't think I've ever had someone yell at me that they were offended by it.

So since Christmas is over...I'll just say have a HAPPY New Years!!!

Nowadays most people just have something up their ***.  They are looking for an excuse to get mad and start an uproar.  Like the idiot who tried to get the Pledge of Allegience removed from public schools b/c it said the word "God" in it.  Pathetic.  Removing the very things that our great country was founded upon.  Makes me sick.  You guys are right.  People are too easily offended.

Actually Jakobud,  That is the very thing this country was founded upon. Seperation from church and state. God denotes certain religions but not all and schools are state funded. Not that I support it but it does have merit.

Happy holidays and happy new year.

I wish that were the case , BLACK KNIGHT ... but it's been a quite a long time since this country has seen stats like those. I'm sure if you do a bit of homework, you might find the "Caucasian" ( as they're so called today ), in the ranges of about 35-38%, a far cry from the 70% you're saying exist.

Even then , if you think about it ... how many Caucasians do you really know? Me, I can't think of one. Sometimes the media, and the brainwashed masses try make some believe that if you're fair-skinned, you must be caucasian.

Not I .. said the spider to the fly!

Tracing back ,I never had any ancestors from the Caucas mountains. I'm sure you'll find the lot of us , tend to be of either Celtic, Nordic or Germanic heritage, all of which are quite the opposite of the traditional Caucas ancestors.

;) Not that the term Caucasian offends me , my friend .... but the way society labels its remainder of fair-skinned inhabitants as being of Caucas-Descent ... should make you quite concerned.

Just my 2 cents ... which I should have probably kept in my pocket, but I just had to speak up a little.

Sorry BYOAC'ers.  Please don't read anything into this post. My intentions are not to offend or spread hate of any kind. I would never do anything to jeopardize my status at BYOAC.

No offense taken.  As I alluded to in my previous post, it takes a heck of a lot more than this kind of thing to offend me.  I'm all for everyone enjoying whatever holiday they wish or enjoying not celebrating whatever holiday they wish.

Just as long as they enjoy arcade games.   ;)
