Hi scores not saving
« on: March 16, 2015, 07:14:31 pm »
Hi

I can't seem to get hi scores to save with groovyMAME .153, for some reason. I have hiscore.dat in the mame folder, created a 'hi' folder there and made sure this feature isn't disabled in mame.ini. Am I forgetting something?

Thanks.

In the recent version (since patch v0.015e) hiscore.dat must me placed in the /home/arcade/ folder.

What's new in SwitchRes v0.015e

- Starting from this version hiscore.dat must be placed in the same folder where mame.exe is, instead of inside the .\hi directory as before. This is to avoid confussion to new users. Please make sure to move hiscore.dat to the right place if you're upgrading from previous versions.

Hmm, now I'm confused.  I have hiscore.dat in the same folder as groovyMAME. Maybe my hiscore.dat is corrupt, or something?! Anyway, I'll re-download it and try putting a copy in the hi folder too, and see if that makes a difference.

Since version 0.153 you're running is previous to Switchres v0.015e you still need to put hiscore.dat inside the "hi" folder.
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

Ah, OK. Thanks!

Am I missing out on anything significant by using a version of groovyMAME without the latest Switchres?

I meant in terms of groovyMAME/Switchres functionality, rather than games.  ;)

You wouldn't have stumbled upon this issue in the first place  :)

Super resolutions and rotated desktop, then. And a swathe of bug fixes affecting particular scenarios.
