Mortal Kombat themed 4 Player Pedestal Finished
« on: March 16, 2015, 11:06:17 am »
Hi Everyone,

This is the first time I have ever posted a project but I have been on this site for a long time enjoying everyone else’s projects etc and have had all my questions answered my members on this site. It’s great to see a site that covers everything!

Anyways here is a Pedestal that a friend of mine was working on but had to stop due to lack of funds so I took on the project and the idea we had was to have a 4 player pedestal to be able to play many types of games. The plan was to play other pc games so we went with the mouse button option. I know some people don’t like a lot of Admin buttons on their panels but I fine these admin buttons are used all the time. The 3 and 4 player layout was based on NFL blitz layout and I added the 7 button for neo geo games and to have had an extra button in cases other emulators were used on Players 1 and 2. The joysticks are Mag Sticks and all the other parts were purchased from ultimarc. I put in an usb extension so a pc could be placed inside or connected somewhere else. The pedestal box had to be expanded to fit all the parts. The control panel is 4 feet long. I wish I took better pictures but at least you get the idea.

Thanks for looking and comments are welcomed good or bad!

Why do you have a mannequin and a pogo stick in your living room?

I finished the pedestal at my warehouse. The room used to be an office and now its a storage room. I was waiting for someone to ask whats behind the pedestal.....

why do you have player 4's buttons below the stick instead of above it?

My buddy had the artwork completed already so I had to keep it lower to stay away from the 4 player start button. The box to hold the control panel was angled and not a rectangle so player 4 start button just fit up top.

Well, its ok man....

Being a MK junkie, I dont like the 4plyr add on...It would of looked cleaner with just 2 plyr and done....4plyr and MK just dont go together.

Looks like you will be cramped anyway.

Craftsmanship is spot on but the theme + 4plyr piece... :puke

Why do you have shrek hostage in your warehouse???? :dunno

Anyway, jokes aside and lessons learned about cropping your other hobbies out of the background, but I would go back and trim your bottom left and right corners of the control panel so that they matched the shape of the cabinet underneath.  I don't see how Player 4 is going to be able to use this thing otherwise.

I didn't realize a Halloween decoration would get so much attention.  I don’t have the pedestal anymore to make changes but thanks for the suggestions.

Rablack97:
Here’s another MK cabinet I made for someone that you’ll hopefully appreciate more. My buddy wanted 4 players and already had the pedestal so the artwork was added to make room for a trackball and 2 additional players.

Pedestal looks dope besides the player 3 and 4 buttons, kind of weird but I am sure they will make it work.

The other MK cab looks great too.

Keep up the good work
