Crazy White Screen...
« on: December 23, 2003, 06:50:52 pm »
I hope this hasn't been asked before, but this has me totally stumped. I am running DK 0.81, MAME 0.77, on a Radeon 9600 w/ a D9200. The problem I am having is that whenever I start up specific games that work just fine on my other machines, all it does is bring up a white screen. The audio can be heard in the background, just no video. All other games work, just not these. Games that have this problem include Missle Command, and Golden Tee I/II. Has anyone heard of this before? Your help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Well, dragon king itself shouldn't have anything to do with the rendering of mame games.  Try them outside of dk on the same system with the same stuff running and see what happens.

**edit**

something that should be of note is that since mame was injected with the new direct3d core, losing focus causes mame's display to be destroyed.... try alt-tabbing through some stuff to see if you can get a render.

Unfortunately that doesn't sound like the problem as a failed render gives a black screen, in both mame and dk.
