Valley Cougar 8

I recently purchased a Valley Cougar 8 dart machine.  I purchased new led lamps to replace the stock bulbs.

For                     - Stock P/N   - LED P/N
Coin Door           - 223-1008   - LE-903-04W
Throw/No Throw - 223-0014   - LE-503-03W
Buttons              - 223-1006   - LE-903-02W


I got the lamps replaced in the coin door and the throw/no throw lights.  For the life of me, I can't figure out how to take the change player and double when lit buttons apart so that I can replace the original lights with the leds.

Any pearls of wisdom you may have would be greatly appreciated.

As with any illuminated pushbutton switch of that vintage, you tilt (rock) the switch holder side to side while pulling hard. The whole switch holder assembly then comes right out of the plastic button.

Thanks.  That did the trick.  Once I got the bulb replaced, I understood why they had a band there (it wasn't present on mine).  The change player button twisted so it must have been replaced at some point.

I appreciate the tip...I was comfortable forcing it too much without knowing what I was trying to accomplish. 

Do you happen to know...the switch in the back of the unit is a standby switch.  I wondered if that switch could take wall current without a problem.  It's a dual pull single throw switch (I think I got that right...there are four contacts on the back) and only one side is used.  Think I could wire the power cord through the other side so it became a true power switch?

Sorry, I have zero experience with Valley dart games. My experiences are with Arachnid 6000 series and Medalist Dart Star machines.
