Konami Crypt Killer

Has anybody else got/seen one of these machines?http://www.system16.com/konami/hrdw_systemgq.html#ck

I bought one a few weeks back and have got it setup in my garage but can't for the life of me get the sound working.  Everything is plugged in OK and there is power to the speakers but I get no sound.  I'm trying to figure out if there is a volume control somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Volume control can sometimes be behind the coin door or even in the setup program (like Midway games are). Check there.

Too bad we have to wait for the next MAME release for a Crypt Killer emu. Otherwise I would have checked for you.

Thanks, the monitor controls are behind the coin door but no sign of volume control.  I'll keep looking.

At least the rest of it runs.  Originally it came up with a media error but I found a loose connection to the hard disk and now it boots and plays just fine, but no sound.

Is your power supply putting out -5 volts? Most games that use -5 will run fine without it, but the sound won't work.

Also, maybe check randyfromm.com and look for the troubleshooting audio amplifiers article.

Hmm, not sure abot the -5V.  This machine is as it was originally made though, no modifications so if it should be there it would be.  The PCB is Jamma but doesn't use the Jamma connector, all connections are made via external connectors (power, video, sound, guns, buttons, coin mech etc.).  I still haven't had another look at it due to being busy with the holidays but I'm sure I'll figure it out.  If not I'll just do what I originally planned and take out the 50" rear projection screen to use as a DVD/video monitor.

Although I only purchased it for the monitor I figured I may as well set up the game and play it till I am sick of it before pulling the screen out and selling the rest of the kit.
