WG 4606 high pitched sound
« on: February 26, 2015, 04:20:30 pm »
I turned on my Gorf game earlier today and the WG 4606 had a great picture but made a high pitched sound while it was running.  This is the first time it did anything like this and I let the game run for about a half hour before turning it off.   I restarted the game after about 10 minutes or so it did not make the same sound again  Any ideas as to what this was?

Here is a link to a recording that I made from just below the monitor inside the cab.  Because the sound is so high pitched, it is hard to tell exactly where it is coming from.

The sound is not as loud as the recording makes it because I used a high quality condenser mic that was set fairly hot.

My guess is that this high frequency sound is being caused by the Flyback Transformer, is this right and if so is there a fix short of replacing it?

Here are a couple of screen shots of the frequency of these signals in case that helps anyone figure out what is generating them.

There are a couple of smaller spikes at a lower frequency.
