graphics card problem.....
« on: December 22, 2003, 08:07:53 pm »
i have a radeon 9800 pro and i have all the settings maxed out and stuff.  i have a 2.4 ghz processor with 512 mb of ddr ram, so my computer shouldnt have trouble handling the card.  i just got through downloading the newest ati drivers and installing them, but i still get this crap.  whats the deal with this stuff?  i mean, granted its not a huge deal, but its enough to be an annoyance, anyone have any ideas?

I've experienced problems with the latest ATI drivers they released in the past month.  I tried previous versions and it fixed my problems.  You can find them on ATI's site.

Those look like the bugs that you got with 9500->9700 hack.  I know because I have one...

it only shows up in some games... And none that I cared about.

Once I turned it back into a 9500 (because that was way more card then I needed for any game I play) it fixed the problems.

The 9500 ended up being the 9700 that had only 2 bad pipelines (and they disabled them).... Of some nature.  Who knows what part of the rendering caused the problem.

Anyway, if you can't load an old version to fix the problem... it might be in hardware.  :'(
