Dynaflat/pureflat monitors commonly have a small board with some adjustables (couple pots and a coil seems typical) up at the yoke.  At one point or another, I knew what these did, but it seems to have escaped me at this point.  Can somebody remind me what these do?

Somewhat related, a friend has a Kortek KT-2914DF (not from Betson but essentially the same monitor) with pincushion issues and adjustable/OSD-control-functional but too-narrow width.  Anyone have any ideas?  Some digging leads me to suspect Q710 or T303, but I've not torn into it yet.
