rCadeGaming used a similar Switch Box for is console setup. He opened his to added his own hardware to process the imige. You wouldn't need to do all that, just hack some Parallel cables to connect to the Kades, tv, and the AV cables of the PS2 & xbox or what ever system you pick.

I dont understand all of these somewhat advanced suggestions to a first time builder. Just a PS2 in 1 cab will cover a good amount of shooting and driving games. A PC in the other will cover everything else.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

We're just trying to make a wife's gift to her husband as kickass (and cheapish) as possible.

It's the Idea Man/Feature Creep principle at work.

Kudos to you Aurora. Jaharrr would love to bottle up whatever you're drinking and give it to his wife.

Ok, how is adding Kades and a second unneeded game console, and  system and kade switchers, going to keep costs down? The PS2 machine doesnt even need controls  if the wheel has a Dpad and buttons on it. Driving with the wheel , shooting with the guns; dont need buttons and sticks at all.  :dunno

I digress, feature creep away! Get it so complex it never gets done, that'll make it super duper mega ultra kick ass!

She is building two different cabs and only one is a PS2 driver and she want's big buck hunter (BBH) on it as well. An AV switch, PS2 with while, and a plug and play BBH and it's a good simple way to implement what she said she wants.

The diagram was just ideas for the second cab. She was unsure about going with a PS2 or an XBOX and I just extend my earlier simple idea to something not at all simple. That said, your right on the second cab being two much. I got caught up in how to do both not wether you should. It's easy to do when your not going to do the wiring.

I would go with a PS2.

Complex is not such a bad thing, In fact I find it quite rewarding, However on such builds (A decade or so later) the hardware is outdated if not flat out obsolete, requiring a rebuild even before it ever got finished... If built right, a game should out live us all.
