Monitor Suggestions
« on: January 16, 2015, 04:10:26 pm »
I built my cab over ten years ago, partially parted it out a couple of years ago, and recently got the cab back.  I originally had a Wells Gardner 9200 monitor but sold that for over $500 a couple years ago.  So I'm left with my original cab and no monitor.  I have an OLD pc running Windows ME (yes, it still runs) and a Ultimarc Arcade VGA card.  In a couple of years I will update the computer and video card but for now i'd like to get this old beast running again.  I was considering putting in a CRT or LCD monitor.  The monitor opening is 25" wide by 23" high.  I could probably make some modifications to the interior and get another 1.5 inches out of it.

Based on the old video card are the CRT and LCD my best options?  Not looking for high level authenticity but am looking for as much screen real estate that I can achieve.  Would also be nice if the monitor I put in, will also easily work with my updates in the future.  If I go with LCD a 4:3 aspect ratio would be recommended?  Any specific model suggestions based on what i'm working with?

Thank you for your help!
