Spare any old Mame32s squire? (I'm putting together an archive)
« on: December 18, 2003, 09:21:57 pm »
Last week I was trying to locate an old version of Mame32 (036 I think it was) and had a lot of trouble tracking it down. With a bit of Googling I got it, but I wasn't expecting it to be so difficult to find old versions of Mame32.

So, to help out other people looking for  a vintage Mame32, I downloaded as many old versions as I could and stuck them on a page HERE. Some of them I found with some searching and some I had backed up from days gone by.

But I've a LOT of versions missing, so if anyone out there has one that isn't on the page I'd appreciate it if you could email it to me so I can share the wealth.

Don't throw away your old Mame32's, recycle them!

Hmmm, yeah, that oculd be tough.  With .dk down it's tougher to find older versions of stuff.

My collection isn't complete but I have a bunch between 35 and 64 including 36 final. I'm not sure how much web space I have for them though.

I've about 200MB left on the joymonkey.com account, so I should be able to host them no problem. Just email them to me (not all in one huge email, one at a time with the filename in the subject would be good) and I'll give them a good home.

Right now all I've got is:
mame32b-035b3.zip
mame32b-035.zip
mame32b-036b11.zip
mame32b-036.zip
mame32b-037b5.zip
mame32b-039.zip
mame32v61b.zip
mame32v62b.zip
mame32v65b.zip
mame32v66b.zip
mame32v67b.zip
mame32v68b.zip
mame32v69b.zip
mame32v71b.zip
mame32v72b.zip
mame32v73b.zip
mame32v74b.zip
mame32v75b.zip
mame32v76b.zip
mame32v77b.zip

So anything else is very much appreciated.

JoyMonkey, that was a stroke of Genuis.

I had just got a load of roms for .77 before they released .78.  Before I got to download .77, it was gone and I couldn't find it.

Brilliant man, brilliant!

Sorta offtopic but semi-related:

A great website I recently came across was this:

http://www.oldversion.com/

It contains all sorts of old versions of popular software (no won't find Mame32 on there though).  It's a really handy website.

While we are on the topic what about older versions of Daphne?

I'm making a laser game archive currently and would like as many of the older versions as people can spare, mainly to find a version that goal to go works on.  It seems that the daph devs don't hold it as a top priority and it's been broken for some time.  Also they tend to bite your head off if you ask for an old version. (and the answer they give in the faq imo doesn't hold up)

So if you have em, post em and I'll add them to my collection, which will be publically available soon.

Joymonkey,

Are you still updating your site? Some of the old files (Mame32 0.55-0.57, and probably others) are missing.

Would love to get 0.55 if you have it.
