primal rage is now working on .77 ?

I just heard that primal rage now runs with sound on .77 .Does this mean i can just upgrade to .77 and sound will run ok or do i need an updated rom in order to make primal rage run with sound.That was one of my top games i wanted running if someone could help me out i'd be gratefull.

Seems to run very smoothly here, complete with sound.
My primrage.zip hasn't been modified since March 2003 and checks out fine with ClrMame, so if you're rom is just as old then you should be fine.

JoyMonkey is right.  The rom hasn't changed.  Keep in mind though, it does run slower with sound.  My Duron 900MHz/256MB can't run it well enough to really be that playable.  All you 90's Midway fighters (e.g. the MK series) will run slower too.  They took out the speed hack in the sound drivers.  The sound is better with no crackling, but the game play slowed down.  This stuff may not even affect you, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
