Finished Williams Multigame Control Panel

Hello all. Much progress on the MW the past few weeks. I have all of the parts for the project (The MW boards just came in from Phoenix)

I am taking Thursday and Friday off to finish the machine.

I helped Nanuuu with the CPO (I did the chunk of wood, Ostriches and the flap wings) Nannuu did the rest. Since I had to buy a piece of artwork from Phoenix to get the boards, I picked up the bezel. I am scanning it right now to trace and upload. BTW, my CPO is the limited edition error model worth three times as much due to the fact that the two Williams "W" logos at the bottom are alike. One is supposed to look like an "M".   Actually, I was so excited to get it together, I didnt want to print it again!

Finally, I am in the process of Illustrator friendly-ing the CPO file for upload. When a CorelDRAW file is exported to an AI file, odd things happen to the blends and some of the lines.

Looks great.  I actually like the double W's.  What type of material did you print it on?

It's a poly-carbonate paper (plastic), completely opaque. The lexan is applied to the top and adhesive is applied to the back. It is a Kodak product that competes with the Rexan product. (With the Rexan, the image is printed on the back, reversed. It is then sealed in with the adhesive. We have both, but in my opinion, this is better.

Looks good!  But your dust covers are on the wrong side.

tbombaci - Sounds like you're in the printing business.  Can you print CPO's for us?  I have an NOS set of Tron cocktail CPOs and I would like to make a small run of repros.  

As for the dust covers, what I did on my MW control panel, was add a small spring to the joystick shaft under the control panel to take up the gap between the top of the joystick base and the bottom of the control panel.  The spring holds the dust cover snug (but not too tight) to the bottom of the control panel.  Looks clean.

I am indeed but we are expensive. Even with a 75% discount, the MW overlay, a Joust overlay and the MW marquee cost me $49 plus tax.

You call that expensive?  But, that is a 75% discount.

The 75% is off of list price. Hardly any of our customers pay list (anywhere from 20-30% off depending on quantity) I did negotiate a 20% off price for any BYOAC'er. Even with that price though, a repro CPO from other companies would be much cheaper and it would be silkscreened as opposed to an inkjet. However, in my opinion, the inkjet quality is outstanding. Without a lupe, there is really no way to tell the difference to the naked eye.

That's cheap!  You printed all three items for $6 less than the MW overlay by itself!

I should probably shift this to the artwork forum, but I'll go ahead and ask - how much would it run (even without your employee discount) to print three or four pairs of these:



As you're probably aware, there are no existing repros of the Tron cocktail CPOs.  I spoke to both Arcade Shop and Phoenix Arcade and neither are interested since the machine is relatively rare.  So its inkjet here I come.  I need a set (because I just can't bring myself to use the NOS ones I have) and my brother also needs a set for his machine.  I figured I would make two or three more on top of that.  I can provide scans, etc.

WHOA!  That does look great!!!!  Sorry about the W's again, the checker has been dually chastised and flogged.

Do you print transparent material as well?  I have white lexan for diffusion but just need a clear print for the marquees.

Nahh! I think the "W"'s are okay.

We do have a transperant material (about 95% transperant...there is a slight haze for the coating used for the ink to ahere to )

I printed the marquees on back lit material. I just sandwich between two chunks of 1/16th Plexi from TAP.

I put a couple of pics of the Joust CPO I finished too. The color is not on yet. I am going to a frinds house Thursday with a Pantone book to match the colors on the original CPO

When are we going to see that wonderful Joust CPO on the mametrix site? Dying to print one out! My Joust machine would thank you greatly, saving it from the awful wood grain that replaced the basket ball court (double dribble... *shudder*)
