Slim Dual Screen Jukebox
« on: December 08, 2014, 04:49:04 pm »
I had finished my original jukebox before we got are new house. Only to find out, it would not fit down the stair to the arcade.  :banghead: We have been here a little over a year now. Since we have moved in, I have added a few more cabs, but still wanted a jukebox. So I started looking around trying to find something I could re purpose as a jukebox. Nothing fit the bill, so I started drawing. Now, I am not the best craftsman. Everything I try to build ends up half-ass or I just lose interest. But I was determined to follow this all the way threw. For the software, I planned on using TouchJams. It supports multi-screens and a beta-brite. It can also be used for karaoke.

I started with a 4x8 sheet of 3/4" MDF and this is what I ended up with for the sides.

The panels for the 22" touchscreen, Eq lights and speakers cut and test fitted.

Openings for the speakers, screens and Eq lights cut out. Decided against using a 17" on top and went with a 19".

Monitors test fitted.

Same with the speakers and Eq lights.

I decided to go with carbon fiber, chrome T-molding and diamond plate for the bottom. Fans also installed.

Here it is basically finished. I added the beta-brite and RGB leds underneath and in the back.
I also added usb mics and microphone holders.

Short video of the finished project.

That looks suspiciously like a DDR machine.

Thanks a lot for the compliments guys!!  I was kinda hesitant on even doing a build thread. I build equality isnt near par to some of you, so I feel kind of embarrassed.

Thanks Yotsuya! I started a wall-mount, but with two screens it was going to be big. So I just decided to make it full-size.  Plus, it can be used for more then just a jukebox this way.

Thanks rablack, yeah you could go into a seizure, but the kids love it and it just adds something to the whole room!

This is where I got my inspiration from

Don't ever be hesitant to post your stuff! You're among friend here.

I actually went from standup to wall mount because I wanted the floor space for my cocktail. It's stored underneath the juke when not in use.

Thanks Yotsuya, that means a lot. Guess I should do one for my touchscreen slot machine, that is in a real slot machine! LoL
