In my Mame cab, the control panel tilts up from the back to expose all the wiring for easy maintenance. I currently have a screw with washer on each side to hold it down, otherwise it has the tendency to lift when you pull down on the joystick(s) with medium force.
While the screw and washer work fine, I am looking for an alternative, something more techie that I don't have to remove to lock the panel down, but be able to access it easily if needed (without having to get the drill out to remove the screws.)
See the pics.
My thought on what would be perfect is to find a small button I could install on each side that would push in, click, and stay in until it was pushed again and would then pop out, staying out - kind of like a ball point pen.
I've searched the net pretty extensively but have yet to find anything like what I'm describing above. Part of the problem is I really don't know what to search for as I can't imagine any other applications where you'd use a button like I'm looking for.
I'm open to any thoughts or ideas with, again, the goal in mind to be able to keep the CP in place while gaming, and easily open it for access to the underside.
Thanks in advance for any help!
