Rom Rename?
« on: December 15, 2003, 11:55:49 am »
What is the best program to rename roms?

My main purpose is to delete all the different versions and languages. I also want to rename the rom so in my list it shows up as

"Pac-Man"

instead of

"Pac-Man [Japan Version] (Bootleg) (smuggled in from iraq)"

and then delete the other versions of the rom that I dont want/need.

Any ideas?

What list are you referring to?  Is it a text file?  If so, just open up a good text editor and you can do batch renaming in it.

The list in MAMEWAH. I was wondering if there was a program or should I just do a find and replace in word.

Rather than delete the clones, just filter them using a custom list in MAMEWAH.  The default setting will (in a custom list) automatically remove the clone info eg '(set 1)' you refer to :)
